I love summer!

I took the kids to the pool today for a couple hours. It was 84, a little breezy and not a cloud in the sky.

Abby and Adam having a snack during "adult swim" when the kids have to get out of the pool.

Adam eating his lunch.

This is the frog slide at the pool. Abby was 5 before she would go down the slide by herself without me having to stand there and catch her. Adam went down a few times with me at the bottom and then said, "No catching!" and wanted to do it by himself from then on. He must have gone down the slide 50 times. He is definitely more adventurous than she was at that age.

Abby made a friend and was playing with this little boy the whole time. She can make friends anywhere. Fun day!

School's out for summer (almost)

Abby's class had their end of year party on Wednesday. I took the morning off work and took a few pictures.

Saturday, my work had an event at City Museum for employees and their families. We had a really nice time. It is a really unique place with caves and stairwells and all kinds of things to climb through. The kids loved it.

We left around 1 because Adam had a birthday party for Ali, a little girl in his class at day care. This was the second birthday party Adam was invited to. It was at Gymquarters, a gymnastics place in O'Fallon.

This is Adam and Logan, his good buddy from school.

So it was a pretty fun day. We just layed around the rest of the afternoon. Kids watched a movie. Seth and I took a short nap. I ran on the treadmill (really loving the convenience by the way). Hopefully, we can go to the pool tomorrow!

Also, I haven't really written about this too much, but Seth's sports writing efforts have really been paying off lately. Look for this stuff on http://www.bleacherreport.com/ and occasionally on http://www.cbssports.com/. I'm very proud of him. Also, keep an eye on his blog. http://www.leftcalf.blogspot.com/. He's also doing his second interview tonight on a nationally-syndicated radio show, http://www.sportsbyline.com/bios/mauro.htm. Seth should be posting a link to the interview on his blog in the next week or so.

Talk to you soon!

3-day weekends should be every weekend

I love 3-day weekends. I didn't write about this in my post on Sunday because I didn't have the pictures on my computer yet. :)

Seth and I got tickets to go to the Cardinals game again on Saturday. My mom watched the kids and we headed downtown for the noon game against the Royals. This time our seats were right behind the visitors' dugout so we've been spoiled with awesome seats. It was also more relaxing to be there without the kids. And it was hot, but not too hot. Perfect weather for being outside on a Saturday afternoon. After the game, we picked up the kids and hung out at home for a bit before heading to Lake St. Louis.

Aren't we cute! :)

A few days ago, Pujols hit a homerun and busted out the "I" in the Big Mac Land sign. The Cardinals tried to be funny...

The view from our seats about 13 rows back.
The view of the Arch from the stadium.

Our treadmill is going to be delivered tomorrow night. We wound up getting an even better model than the one I showed in the pictures below. The better model is the same with just a few upgraded features. It wound up being about the same price because of where it was shipping from so the store upgraded it for me. I'm excited to get back to running.

Also, our trip to Disney is 17 days away, which has me a little freaked out. I'm feeling a little unprepared. I spent all weekend finalizing our dining plans and making multiple lists of things we need to bring, do and know to have a successful vacation. I told Seth he is so lucky I am such a good planner. If it was up to him, he would be vacationing in a tin can. (That is a reference to how before we met he used to cook cans of soup on his stove top and eat it when it was still in the can! I still think that is wierd.)

Have a great week!

Summer is almost here!

Lots of things going on last week. On Friday, Abby had Olympic Day at school where each class represented a different country (Abby's class was Austria) and played games. Everyone got a medal at the end of the day. It was about 86 degrees on Friday so it was a beautiful day to be outside. I was able to work from home in the morning and then go up to Abby's school to watch. Abby gets so excited when I go up there. Here are a bunch of pictures from that.

Remember the parachute?

Monday night, we were able to take the kids to the Cards game. I got great tickets through work and we were about 13 rows behind the Cardinals dug out. Even though it was a crappy game (they lost 8-4), we all still really enjoyed it. Weather was great.

I was able to walk up to the front and take pictures inside the dugout. Kind of cool.

Awwwww......

We were just getting ready to leave in the 7th when the Cards started to rally so we found a place to stand. This is the kids overlooking the field.
Fun times. P.S. The treadmill is going to be delivered on Tuesday!
