November has been busy

Hi all. I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here and before you know it, it's going to be Christmas. Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Last Friday, I got tickets to the opening night preview of the new dinosaur exhibit at the St. Louis Science Center so my mom and I took the kids. It is an exhibit from China that had never before been seen in the U.S.

Last Saturday we had Dawn's baby shower. Little Rocco Flynn Meyer is due in January. It seems like Dawn is really getting excited. The shower turned out great and was fun.

This is Dawn and her friend, Nicole, playing a game where you had to feel around in a bowl of uncooked rice for safety pins. It's harder than it sounds and had people laughing.

Last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I was in San Diego for a work trip.

This is me having dinner at a cafe on the marina. The weather was so gorgeous. I ran along the marina Monday and Tuesday morning and it was so gorgeous. Except for the homeless people. That was a little disconcerting but I suppose if I was homeless I would move to San Diego, too.

The marina. This is where I ran. My hotel is one of the tall buildings straight ahead.

Sunday night, the conference held a dinner party on the deck of the U.S.S. Midway, a navy aircraft carrier that was used from World War II throgh the Gulf War. It was super cool.

This is the entrance to a popular district in San Diego called the Gas Lamp Quarter, which has lots of bars, restaurants and shops. The girl I was traveling with, Carrie, and I had lunch here and did a little shopping.

This Saturday, Seth and I went to a surprise engagement party for our good friend Brian who got engaged recently. This is Brian and Kat. Brian's parents threw a wonderful party and it was a lot of fun.

Tonight, Abby went to church with our neighbor, Hannah, and her mom. I thought she looked so cute and of course, she had to pose.
I know I haven't talked about it in a while, but I'm still running and it's been going really well. I ran my first 10K a couple weeks ago in 1:04:29 - that's 6.2 miles! My record for the 5K is 29:41. I'm running another 5K next Sunday with Jennifer and Sydney and I are running one on Dec. 6. I hope I can stick with it through the winter.
Not too much going on this week. Abby has PSR on Wednesday but nothing else going on all week. Hope everyone is well and having a great fall.

Halloween and Miley Cyrus

Now that we are back to having a healthy house (both kids had H1N1 in the last two weeks), here are some pictures from Halloween. Last Wednesday Abby had a Halloween play at school that Seth and I went to.

This is her in her classroom. Edvin is to her left, and Ivanna to her right. I'm not sure who the little boy is behind her.

Wednesday night was the Miley Cyrus concert. Abby was so excited and had so much fun.

Friday night Seth and I had a Halloween party to go to at Greg and Nicole's house. The theme was horror so we had to be something scary. We were the "Doctors of Death."

At the end of the night, Abby and I fell asleep. Too funny.

On Halloween, the kids were fired up and ready to get lots of candy!

Abby was an Asian princess and Adam was Spiderman.

We had a fun time and the kids got a lot of candy. We trick-or-treated for almost two hours and Adam didn't start complaining until the very end. I was impressed.

I don't think we have too much going on this week but next weekend is busy. Dawn's baby shower for little Rocco is Saturday and Sunday I have a 6 a.m. flight to San Diego for work. I come back Tuesday night. I've never been to San Diego before and I haven't traveled for work since April but traveling and leaving the kids with Seth is always hard. Hope you all have a great week!
