Let's see what this blogging thing is all about.

This is officially my first post. I have been really focused on goal setting for the last year or so and one of my most recent goals was to start a blog. I hope to use this as a way to share photos of my kids with friends and family, keep people updated on what's going on with the Dorias, and share my thoughts on whatever comes to mind. I recently started Facebook and MySpace pages and it's been kind of fun to play around on those sites so I thought this might be fun, too.

Here are some of my other goals for 2008. It's kind of nice that I can cross off at least one!

1. Pay off credit cards (we have two) and after eight long months, they are almost paid off.
2. Develop a financial plan for after the credit cards are paid off (I'd like to do something smart with all the money we've been socking away. Ideally, build up a savings account, open IRAs for Seth and I, and start college funds.)
3. Once a month do at least one family activity. In August, we went to Chicago for vacation.
4. Exercise five days a week. No comment. At least not today.
5. Plan a Disney trip. We're planning to go to Disney in June 09.
6. Run a 5K.
7. Create a will and/or trust. Name guardians for the kids if something should happen to us. This is expensive and not a fun topic to talk about.
8. Start a blog.

There are a few others and I'll make some new ones for 2009, but all in all these are what has been on my mind for the last few months. Did you see that the guy who wrote the book, "100 Things to Do Before You Die" died? He didn't finish the list. How's that for some food for thought?
